Matt, this is really nice. I love the loose lines and the fact that you have torn the paper to fit the shape of the drawing. When you work on such a small scale and alter the shape of the paper - I'm curious what you do with them?

The ripped off paper gives an interesting touch to it. I like the angle and his serious face.

Hi, Debra. Do you mean what do I do with them after they're finished? The answer is not much. Put them in a little file maybe. One of the reasons I started drawing on contractor's paper was to eliminate the "good paper effect" that can sometimes paralyze you a bit. I think of these portraits (and the pirate series I did earlier) as just little exercises.

This has a very nice, slightly dark mood and I love the torn paper edges!

Wow, love the light in this, and that it's on a scrap of paper, like a torn photo, or a half-forgotten memory.

He reminds me of "Treasure Island." Really neat.
