You were in NZ? (You labelled an August pix 'Helensville, NZ'. We have just got the book 'Always' and I liked your work so googled... hope you enjoyed your visit. Planning to emigrate? Would love to think that lil ol' NZ could inspire some of your pix.
Ohhhh this is lovely Matt!! You have such an amazing way to capture emotion, feelings and depth of character with just a few strokes. Gosh, you make it look easy.. :o)
Thanks, everyone! Nixxi, I'm pleased as punch that you got Always in New Zealand. Sadly, my books seem to travel more than I do. That particular Monkey of the World is common to the area of Helensville...or so I have been informed. I do hope to get to NZ one day for a good visit. Until then, I'll turn to Flight of the Conchords for inspiration (brilliant show).
:) I've now met some of the other monkeys of the world. The particular monkey that is endemic to Helensville would, I think, be part of the Prime Monkey troop. They are drawn to areas of great art or culture, every three years they build up to a great performance, which has to be seen to be believed, as it involves mallards and others monkeying around. Some say the performance has meaning, others view it as ebullient foot-stomping after which life returns to normal as if nothing had happened.
