Preliminaries: Big George 5
...and the final cover. This book was released a week or so ago and should be making its way into bookstores soon. You can read bits of early reviews here. What with Washington and my story about Hoover for Our White House, 2008 was a pretty presidential year for me. 2009 will have more history, but no president books.

Great illustrations! I really like your style.
It's amazing how you manage to illustrate adorable children, and then historic paintings with the same credibility.
What puzzles me is the story itself. "Big George" is a children book, right? And it seems to be a sort of biography of a president! Or I must be mistaken... That has happen before! ;)
Congratulations for your new book. Excellent illustrations for what I've seen.
Hello, Anais! Thank you for the compliments. Big George is a biography of the first US president, but it is written for children (a bit older than some picture books, though). Thanks for visiting my blog!
My pleasure :)
My pleasure!
Thank you for sharing your work :)
Your art is inspiring, as when I think of Jessie Willcox Smith. I cannot paint that way, that's why I like it so much when I see that lovely style in accomplished artists.
I know it isn't in this post, but since I'm already here: What a sweet giraffe you drew!
P.S. Oops! Have I just seen I wrote the past participle without an ending in "has happened"?! Good-bye Pulitzer! ;)
It's the end of the year. All of our participles are past. Here's to fresh present participles!
Happy New Year 2009 to you too :)
