This is fantastic! Your work is always so inspiring. Are the lines done with brush as well? I've been working more with brush drawing so I'm always full of questions.
Hey, Eric. I definitely find your work inspiring as wel! Yes, I first drew the line with a #4 brush and Sumi ink (if you look at the left hand you can see that i adjusted the fingers) then let it dry a little and added a wash of watery Sumi ink. I like that Sumi isn't waterproof because it can lead to some happy accidents.
So much information in this drawing... so little fuss. Simplicity really is the hardest thing.
Thanks for the drop-in and comment over at my place yesterday; it was funny because I'd been looking at this blog for the first time earlier in the day.

I'm going to try that! Thanks Matt!
Oh, and it's on Arches cover stock paper, which I bought to compare with Rives BFK. It's very similar, but I still lean to the Rives.

You're so bookmarked now.
Lovely, simple linework but full of movement. Corkin!
