Keaton studies

Here are some watercolor studies of young Buster Keaton and his dad for my next graphic novel. I'm using Cartiera Magnani hot press watercolor paper for this one. It is verrrry nice paper.

lovin' Buster Matt! His eyes are really intense [in a good way]!

You've captured his likeness! So great!

Very nice Matt. I love your typically loose line work, but I'm intrigued as well by the near absence of line in these two images.

Lovely watercolours. I'll have to try that paper. I usually use Fabriano hot press.

Thanks, everyone! Erik, I am playing with a more traditional watercolor treatment for this one. Hope the line will still be there, but a little more subtle.

Lauren, Thank you! That's my big challenge for this book I think.

Jane, I used Fabriano hot press on my last few books and I love it, but this story seemed to call for a different paper.
